Handa na ang Kapamilya star na si Jericho Rosales na gampanan ang kanyang mapanghamong papel sa international prison action series ng ABS-CBN International Production and Co-Production division, BlackOps Studios Asia, Psyops8, Story Arch Pictures, at Agog Film Productions na “Sellblock” na kanyang pagbibidahan.
Kwento ni Jericho, ipinaalam sa kanya ang “Sellblock” tatlong taon na ang nakalipas at agad niyang nagustuhan ang proyekto.
Aniya, “It’s always very exciting to do new things, especially groundbreaking projects and I felt that ‘Sellblock’ is one of those. It was presented to me at the time when I was looking for projects with more grit, projects that would push me, motivate me to try out new things, out of the box stuff, even character roles.”
Magsisilbing Kapamilya comeback ni Jericho ang “Sellblock” matapos ang kanyang 2018 top-rating series na “Halik,” kaya naman puspusan ang kanyang research at training para sa papel niya sa serye kasama ang isang New York-based acting coach para sa ‘fresh experience’ na ito.
“Working on this kind of project would push me to prepare in ways that I haven’t done before so I kind of love that fresh experience. There’s a little nervousness on my part and when I get nervous about something it means that it’s a good thing,” dagdag ni Jericho.
Pangarap din daw talaga ng aktor na makatrabaho ang mga mahuhusay sa industriya kaya hindi niya pinalagpas ang oportunidad.
“My dream has always been to work with the best in the world. The best actors, best directors, best people in production, best scripts, the best locations. Who doesn’t want that, right? When an opportunity like this comes, you don’t sleep on it. You respond right away. When it was presented to me, I really liked it. Unfortunately, COVID-19 happened, but I’m really glad that ‘Sellblock’ is back. And I hope this opportunity will open new doors in the international scene, not just for me, but for all the great Filipino talent behind this project.”
Makakasama ni Jericho sa “Sellblock” ang mga dekalibreng mga aktor sa bansa na sina Tirso Cruz III, Cherry Pie Picache, Ronnie Lazaro, Rosanna Roces, Mon Confiado, RK Bagatsing, at Pepe Herrera na naka-enganyo pa sa kanya na pagbutihin ang proyekto. Dagdag inspirasyon din daw para kay Jericho ang mainit na suporta ng fans sa “Sellblock” na nabasa niya online.
Masaya rin si Jericho sa direksyon na tinatahak ngayon ng ABS-CBN para mas bigyang pansin ang talentong Pilipino ng global viewers.
“I’m excited that ABS-CBN is focusing on international projects and bringing talents, helping them get discovered and be seen not just in the Philippines, but all over the world,” pahayag niya.
Inanunsyo ang “Sellblock” sa international news site na Variety sa 2022 Hong Kong Filmart.
Patuloy ang pakikipagsanib-pwersa ng ABS-CBN para sa mga international project upang mas makilala pa ang mga kwentong Pilipino at talento sa buong mundo. Kamakailan lang, inanunsyo ang pagiging bahagi nito sa proyektong “Concepcion,” isang crime drama tungkol sa paghahari ng isang pamilyang Pilipino sa isang lugar sa Amerika.
Nitong Pebrero, ipinakilala rin ang cast ng “Cattleya Killer” na ipapalabas din sa buong mundo. Nasa likod rin ito ng “Almost Paradise,” ang unang American TV series na kinunan sa Pilipinas na pinroduce nito kasama ang Electric Entertainment mula sa Hollywood.
